-bathing at a mountain lake, 1930's.

This photo taken around 1920 of three men bathing in a mountain lake behind Britannia Beach, demonstrates the kind of freedom and relaxation that will always exist here in Britannia. Nude bathing is still a regular activity and happens on a secret shipwrecked beach not far from town. You'll have to ask us locals nicely to find out where!

Browing Lake at Murrin Park, just 5 minutes north of Britannia Beach on the sea to sky highway is an exquisite site to see, to swim (only with your clothes on here) and to rockclimb.

Shannon Falls, another 5 minutes north of Murrin Park is an experience not to be missed. Surrounded by forest you can walk up a trail to see the falls close up. If you feel like a longer hike, take the trail through the wilderness back to Britannia Beach.

Furry Creek Golf Club. 5 minutes before you hit Britannia, coming from Vancouver, check out this golf course with incredible views of the Howe Sound.
