The Mountain Woman
(The Blue Bus)
15 years ago, in 1984, Lynne Cook
opened up a small business in Britannia Beach called the Mountain
Man. A Fish and Chips place based from a small blue bus. Now, she
has made a name for herself in the fast food industry, with her
burgers rated the second best in BC, and her fresh fish,
surrounded with a light batter.
In 1991, when disaster struck
with the flooding of Britannia Creek, Lynne was only closed for a
week. She re-opened with the helping hand of the community, the
first business in town to re-open after the flood devastated the
bottom level of Britannia Beach.
Since her opening in 1984,
Lynne's business has been known as the 'Blue Bus' to many
tourists, and locals. You can't visit Britannia Beach without
visiting the 'Blue Bus' as well! |
